In Re Pettifogger Mark A. Shiffrin
The following is a warning to the public not to hire pettifogging lawyer Mark A. Shiffrin who misrepresents his capabilities to clients and facts to courts of law. Aside from lying, from my interactions with him, Shiffrin's only real capability is brown nosing opposing counsel.
According to a client of his, Christine Jowdy, Pettifogger Shiffrin has severe mental health issues and regularly "blew up" whenever she would ask questions regarding his dubious legal tactics.
Shiffrin is balding, overweight and would only need a bright red plastic nose to fit in with a clown troop.
According to Ms. Jowdy, Shiffrin's apartment, that also serves as his law office, is so full of "junk" he uses his car as overflow storage. I've seen him show up for court wearing a suit so wrinkled if I had to guess, I'd say he stores it in his glove compartment.
From available evidence, circumstances and court records, it appears Shiffrin suborned Ms. Jowdy fabricating evidence and making false statements to a court of law. All of this will be detailed in this and subsequent posts.
After losing custody of her youngest child through a juvenile court proceeding wherein the Connecticut Department of Children and Families ("DCF") alleged that Ms. Jowdy and her ex-husband, Raymond J. Milot, Jr. neglected their children, Ms. Jowdy hired Shiffrin in mid-2022 to file a lawsuit against DCF and paid him $25,000.
According to Ms. Jowdy, despite Shiffrin's promises, by early October 2022, he failed to provide her a draft of the suit she contracted with him to file.
On October 12, 2022, I awoke to Ms. Jowdy angry with Shiffrin over his empty promises and threatening suicide. Her tirade continued for over twenty minutes. Responding to her dog, Elvis', barking to be let out, I stumbled out of bed to allow him relief. Ms. Jowdy followed me, speaking angrily about Shiffrin and opining about how she wanted to be dead.
Upset over Ms. Jowdy's dysregulation, as soon as I opened the door, Elvis bolted out of our yard and down the street. I retreated to my office. Ms. Jowdy located me and threw Elvis' electronic dog collar at me. The collar clipped my head and shattered my computer monitor. I immediately called 911.
Ms. Jowdy fled the house, got in her car and drove off in pursuit of Elvis. Troopers from Connecticut State Police Troop B caught up to her and arrested her a short while later.
Desperate to assert her legal claims against DCF, Ms. Jowdy requested I draft the complaint on her behalf. I informed her I could not do that because I'm not privy to the facts and circumstances that would give rise to the claims because juvenile court records are confidential. After I told Ms. Jowdy that, on January 26, 2023, she emailed me the juvenile court "neglect petitions" and provided me a slew of other confidential DCF and juvenile court records, including recordings of the hearings.
I could not assist Ms. Jowdy to draft a lawsuit against DCF. Because of the confidentiality of the records, only a lawyer could assist her.
On June 21, 2023, Ms. Jowdy emailed me stating: "[I]f Scott [Maser] and [Pettifogging Parasite] Mark [Shiffrin] do not file the Civil Case against DCF I am gong to sue them.
